The Parent/Infant program for children entering at 12 to 24 months meets on Fridays from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. with a Montessori-certified teacher.
This class for the child accompanied by a parent or caregiver is designed to build awareness of the Montessori approach to learning for the child and parent. You will have the rare opportunity to observe and interact with your child in a Montessori classroom prepared just for young children.
During the weekly 90-minute class, the teacher introduces activities to children and guides their explorations, helping to prepare them for the Toddler program. These lessons help to develop social skills, concentration, communication and a sense of belonging to a group.
The teacher also provides parent education, including reading materials on child development and discussions on how to incorporate the Montessori philosophy into the home and help the child to develop independence and self-confidence.
